An Ode to Dreamers

There I was a presidental scholar, eighteen, and stem major begining to navigate the web of adulthood. Until three weeks into the school year my momther unexpectedly passed away after fighting a multitude of chronic illnesses at once. I was devistated, I felt frozen in this new reality that suddenly claimed ownership over me.

I was lost, as I tried to look for awnsers in all the wrong places, trying to find my authentic purpose. For the first three years all I could do was write, that was the only way I could express myself. Until I wrote the very sentence that unthawed me “ A solar being, with a human heart, roaming the fields of my destiny.”

Overtime the flashbacks of my youth revealed themselves to me, peaking out from the shadows. I reflected on earliest memories, a young girl glued  the kitchen table aside my mom, blending crayon and marker into construction paper forming my growing collection picture books. And more I dove into myself, the vault of forgotten memories reminded me how writing has always been there.

Such soul-searching granting me the courage to spill the depths of me onto paper. The countless nights I spent attempting to emobody of the true essence of my spirit. Until Poetic Tavern was born, a place for all the unfold the thoughts that lay within their mind. As it’s more than a notebook, it’s a portal to the inner world we all hold within ourselves.
